Useful Links

Here's just a few of the popular Motorhome related website forums, suppliers and other associated links I have used in the past. I have found these helpful and informative and hope that they may provide a suitable reference point for others who enjoy the motorhome hobby and lifestyle.

  • Motorhomefacts: A great resource of motorhome information and excellent motorhome forum with help, tips and advice covering almost every conceivable motorhome related topic. An annual subscription is required to enjoy full access to the forums, but this is really worth it in terms of member discounts, help and advice received.
  • Motorhomefun: Alongside 'Facts' Motorhomefun is another great resource for motorhome enthusiasts. Annual subscription required but plenty of member discounts and offers more than make up for the small initial outlay.
  • Vicarious Books: A fantastic source of must have Motorhome and Camping related travel books. Whether you are planning a trip abroad or within the UK, this small independent company offer a great selection of books, guides many of which are not available anywhere else.
  • Out and About Live:  A handy online resource for all aspects of Motorhomes and Motorhoming.. Motorhome reviews, articles and news are all covered here and in print format through their own monthly magazine publications; Magazine Monthly (MMM), Which Motorhome and Campervan.
  • Bike Higher:  Electric Bike hire in Devon. A great way of trying out some great electric bikes. If you are in the market to buy an e-bike then Jon at Bike Higher will offer great advice and information on the various options available to select from and you can try out some excellent bikes before making a commitment to buy. Handily placed for the excellent Tarka Trail and even delivered the bikes to us at our campsite!
  • Wohn Mobil Atlas: A useful online database of motorhome parks in Germany. Easily translated in several languages. Photo's of each stop-over, co-ordinates and much more information on each place.
  • Pedelecs UK: A useful website that provides all you need to know about electric bikes in the UK: news, guides, an e-bike search and buy tool, as well as details and reviews on the latest models. You can also search for electric bike dealers close to you and join the forum for help, tips and advice.
  • Wild Camping for Motorhomes: A website dedicated to motorhome users who like to spend their time maximising what motorhomes were designed for....living off-grid!

Tips & Useful Information:

  • Visiting the Black Forest region of Germany? If you intend to stay more than a couple of nights on a campsite or participating motorhome Stellplatz then take advantage of the Konus Guest Card which provides free bus and rail travel throughout the region.
  • When travelling in Austria you may need to buy a Go-Box to use the motorway network. These boxes can be purchased at petrol station's close to the Austrian border. More information here on the > Go-Box.
  • When crossing into Switzerland you'll most probably need to buy a vignette or motorway sticker to use the motorways. You can pay in Euro's but they only accept 'Paper Money' and any change will be given in Swiss Francs (CHF). To avoid their 'poor' exchange rate and a pocketful of swiss coins have denominations of 5 and 10 Euro notes to hand.
  • If you are planning a trip into Germany and would like some free information leaflets, guides and maps, then contact the German tourist board at www.germany.travel where you can have a number of leaflets sent out to you in the post. Also if you know a specific area of Germany you wish to visit the local tourist boards also offer a similar service.
